NPSW Board Fired PARIS – The selectmen of Norway and Paris met jointly February 25, to assert their authority over the Norway Paris Solid Waste (NPSW) Corporation, but the waste board has not yet submitted, and may snap back.
Fryeburg Terminates Town Manager FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Selectmen voted two to one Monday, March 1, to immediately terminate Town Manager Martin Krauter. The select board cited Krauter for breach of contract in several areas of his contract with the Town. These include included issues related to compensatory time, the manner and performance of his duties and possible violations of vacation and sick leave policies. Mr. Krauter could not be reached for comment.
Six Year Old Raises Money for Haiti OXFORD – Six year old Madison Gordon had a big idea: raise money to help the people in Haiti fix their homes. (See front page, February 11, 2010.) At six, money is money. However, to the adult world what Madison has accomplished, is quite remarkable. To date, she has raised $250 all by herself through “cleaning” the homes of friends and relatives to drawing pictures that she then sold.
